Best Training Spots in MapleStory Classic World

Where to level from 1 to the 100 cap on Victoria Island: the Ant Tunnel, the Kerning subway, Sleepy Dungeon V, the new Excavation Site and why it gets slow after 60.

The best training spots in MapleStory Classic World are the Ant Tunnel for the 20s, the Kerning City subway from 31 to 55 (Line 2 Area 2's Wraiths are the strongest map on the island) and Sleepy Dungeon V from the mid 50s. Past 60 the island runs out of strong maps, and the climb to the level 100 cap gets slow.

That's the shape of launch: Victoria Island, four jobs, second job at 30 and no Ossyria. Map picks below use NiaMeowDB's spawn-based rankings and the mapleclassic.wiki monster data, checked on 22 October, with Nexon's release notes for what changed at launch.

Maple Island's quests pay more EXP than its monsters, so do them and sail at level 8 to 10. On Victoria Island the early maps are interchangeable; what matters is first job at 10 and second job at 30.

The Kerning City subway is Victoria Island's best EXP for twenty levels. Line 2 Area 1 at 31 to 35, then Line 2 Area 2 once you can kill a Wraith in two hits, usually around 47. NiaMeowDB rates Line 2 Area 2 the strongest map on the island. The subway carries you from 31 to 55. After 60, you carry yourself.

The gap between them is the hard part. Levels 41 to 45 have no map that stands out, and your gear decides how it feels. Monkey Swamp III's Zombie Lupins have low defence, which is why it wins the bracket for under-geared characters.

Sleepy Dungeon V is the last great map: Dark Stone Golems at 58 across 88 spawn points, with Lupins and Curse Eyes filling the gaps. Sleepy Dungeon III is the same mix across 45 spawn points when V is full.

After 60 the island thins out. NiaMeowDB's words: "no strong map for the 60s." Dangerous Valley II's Red Drakes (Lv 60) sit on timed respawns, so Golems or Wraiths stay the better farm past 60. The monsters above that are few and far apart.

Nobody has published a measured route from 70 to 100 yet. Expect the last 30 levels to be the slowest part of the climb until Nexon opens more of the map. Forgotten Hollow is due in November; Orbis and El Nath have no date.
